for those of you who like some action in the quiet time:

i ve looked over the upcoming 3 days of qualifiers in the african cup of nations. i capped the games basically from current standing and some recent result, so treat them with caution. But i still think some line are off. they moved a bit already but still have great value:

Guinea- Gambia: under 2.5 @ 1.90

Eritrea- Angola: Angola -0.5 @ 1.80 (was yesterday at 1.90)

SouthAfrica- Chad: SouthAfrica -2 @ 1.90 (was yesterday at -2.25 @ 2.01 ---dont understand the line move here)

Tunesia- Seychelles: Tunesia -3,-3.5 @ 1.96

Cape Verde Islands - Algeria: Algeria pk @ 1.80 (yesterday pk @ 2.14)

Ivory Coast- Madagascar- Ivory coast -3,-3.5 @ 1.97 (yesterday -3 @ 1.96)

If somebody else has any input it could be helpful. i am sure there is more value and lines off with these relatively small teams.

look forward to your leans/plays...

I'm hoping to catch some loose lines. The problem is that it can be hard to find information on the teams...

not yet completed with the capping, but it s great fun to go thru the web looking for info. like to share some

about german coach Vogt of Nigeria : He also informed that he knows nothing about the Menas of Niger, Nigeria's opponents in Sunday's Nations Cup qualifier in Niamey. "I don't know anything about the opponents. I have not seen tapes on them. We are just preparing because I know that we are playing a team on Sunday", he alleged.

--- i mean, how can we cap a match, if they dont even know the team they are playing????????????:WTF:

Namibia-DR Congo

The Democratic Republic of Congo national soccer team was locked in a meeting on Tuesday which stretched into late midnight as the squad and the football officials sought to iron out outstanding differences before their clash with the Brave Warriors of Namibia.
Already, the expected visitors have failed to honour the FIFA/CAF rule which stipulates that a visiting country should submit to its host information on its travelling programmes and envoy, ten days before the match. Namibia Football Association Acting Secretary-General Barry Rukoro was also in closed meetings with Congolese Ambassador Anastas Kaboba Wa-Kimba to try and establish whether the team was still coming to Namibia.

"The team is coming. The Simbas (Leopards) will be landing on a private aircraft on Thursday. It's a pity not much information could be presented as they are locked in a meeting in Kinshasa to try and establish who will be coming as players and who will be coming as supporters," said Wa-Kimba on Tuesday evening.
Wa-Kimba said later that the visitors would now be arriving anytime on Friday, as everything had been ironed out.
DR Congo's Sports Minister Pardonne Kaliba, who has had public confrontations with coach Henri Depireux, was also believed to be part of the no-holds barred meeting where the team had threatened not to come if their demands were not met. Depireux has been maintaining for the last seven days that he will not be travelling to Namibia with the squad if he is not paid his eleven months' salary.
As a result, fears had been high that travelling documents of players such as Portsmouth-based Lomana Lua Lua, who could not make it in the team's 0-1 loss in Ethiopia last week, could as well be in a shambles.
According to Wa-Kimba, Depireux is now on the travelling list and "so are some of the players who missed the Ethiopia match two weeks ago."
The NFA maintains that they have been kept in the dark by the Group 10 African Nations Cup log leaders who have seven points, one ahead of the Brave Warriors.
"Who knows, the Congolese may be playing mind games with us? We must prepare our team properly and do the job properly without concentrating on their problems as that might create problems for us," said Rukoro after meeting Wa-Kimba.
As it was, late on Tuesday an unconvinced NFA issued a communiqué informing media houses that a media briefing would be held on Thursday (today) mid-morning at the headquarters of Namibian Football, Soccer House, with the Nations Cup qualifier being the main agenda.
Problems within the Simbas, as the Congolese are nicknamed, have started to affect the whole team, and Rukoro assured the nation that he hoped DRC would not decide to forfeit the match.
<TABLE cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=9 width=180 align=left border=0><TBODY><TR><TD align=right></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>
Anticipated Rukoro: "We just hope they make it on Thursday as they say, because failure to do so will result in DRC being suspended from CAF activities for a minimum of three years, which is not a good picture."
The Congolese government has not been releasing funds to the national team because since the end of that country's war and the staging of its first democratic elections in years, the country's budget is yet to be passed by parliament.
Unlike Libya who arrived five days before the match, DRC will have a limited space to acclimatize to Namibia's growing chilly temperatures.

:puppy: oh man...why is there no line if the team arrives at all..namibia should be a good pick here.

another "travelling problem":

The much talked about Burundi-Egypt clash in Group Two have been postponed due to the failure of the hosts to secure a comfortable accommodation for the African Champions in Kigali, their adopted home ground.
This is because hotels in the Rwandan capital are said to be fully booked for an International AIDS Conference scheduled for this weekend.

congo- south africa (it s played on an artifical turf):

"They made a big mistake," the Bafana Bafana skipper said, pointing out the folly of Congo's decision to play Sunday's African Nations Cup Group 11 qualifier in Pointe Noire, which has an astroturf, instead of Brazzaville, which has a pitch that observers claim would probably be shunned even by cows.
"An artificial pitch will suit us," said Mokoena. "I don't think they are aware they are doing us a favour."
<TABLE cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=5 align=right border=0><TBODY><TR><TD align=right><SCRIPT language=JavaScript src="http://ads.allafrica.com/adx.js" type=text/javascript></SCRIPT><SCRIPT language=JavaScript type=text/javascript><!-- if (!document.phpAds_used) document.phpAds_used = ','; phpAds_random = new String (Math.random()); phpAds_random = phpAds_random.substring(2,11); var str = "<" + "script language='JavaScript' type='text/javascript' src=""; str += "http://ads.allafrica.com/adjs.php?n=" + phpAds_random; str += "&what=en,_inset,_southafrica,-nonstory,en,_inset,_congo_brazzaville,-nonstory,en,_inset,_soccer,-nonstory|en,_inset,_ros,-nonstory"; str += "&exclude=" + document.phpAds_used; str += "&source=en,_inset,_southafrica,-nonstory,en,_inset,_congo_brazzaville,-nonstory,en,_inset,_soccer,-nonstory|en,_inset,_ros,-nonstory"; if (document.referrer) str += "&referer=" + escape(document.referrer); str += ""><" + "/script>"; document.write (str);//--></SCRIPT><SCRIPT language=JavaScript src="http://ads.allafrica.com/adjs.php?n=356782489&what=en,_inset,_southafrica,-nonstory,en,_inset,_congo_brazzaville,-nonstory,en,_inset,_soccer,-nonstory|en,_inset,_ros,-nonstory&exclude=,&source=en,_inset,_southafrica,-nonstory,en,_inset,_congo_brazzaville,-nonstory,en,_inset,_soccer,-nonstory|en,_inset,_ros,-nonstory&referer=http%3A//www.isfa.com/news/africa/" type=text/javascript></SCRIPT><NOSCRIPT> </NOSCRIPT></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>
Most South Africans, of course, are convinced that Congo's decision smacks of desperation and dirty tricks, mindful of what happened 10 years ago when Bafana travelled to the oil-rich coastal city of Pointe Noire, but Mokoena is not among them....
...Bafana did find a small artificial pitch in Modderfontein to "have a feel" of what it's like, but Parreira wasn't too impressed. "It was not ideal as it's not a full pitch. You need to practice free kicks, corner kicks and some tactical aspects and we couldn't do it there.

That's all good stuff chriscol. African football is CRAZY!!!!

I've been checking this site today whilst capping:

http://allafrica.com/soccer/

I've taken Nigeria-1 but now having read what Vogts said I'm shitting myself aswell as :missingte...

I took Sudan -0.5 and Gabon -0.5.

I was looking at the Botswana vs. Mauritania match. Botswana have been very disappointing in qualifying and will most likely not qualify. The coach is having huge problems with the association, fans have come onto the pitch to threaten him. Attendances are going down.

Mauritania are pretty poor away but strong at home. Nonetheless, their performances have been surprisingly good. Apparently the reason they've performed well is because they've illegally got some French players in the squad!

I was looking at the Lesotho vs. Uganda match. Uganda have to win, they're 2nd in the group. They're not very good away from home. It will be worse because Lesotho is freezing cold. Also, Uganda's best player, a defender called Sekagaya has let the team down by refusing to play and not turning up. They've got an injury to a really creative midfielder, but might risk him. Other than that, Lesotho are seen as a joke for their usual poor performances.

Anyway, good luck with any picks.

Super Eagles goalkeeper, Vincent Enyeama has said that flying in Nigeria is like a scary movie and he would rather take all the precautions that risk his life.
The goalkeeper who seems to have lost his number shirt to his deputy Austin Ejide the spate of air mishaps in the country has made him a nervous wreck anytime he wants to fly within Nigeria.

Enyeama who once escape death in ghastly auto crash chose to drive from Uyo to Owerri instead of catching a flight from Calabar to Lagos before joining his teammates in Abuja. "If I went through Calabar, I would have had to fly to Lagos first, and then to Abuja.
"Flying in Nigeria these days is a scary experience for me and although I do it, to fly twice in one day is something I have not been able to do.
"So I preferred to drive all the way to Owerri, where I could catch a direct flight to Abuja, than go to Calabar. But by the time I got to Owerri in the morning, I missed the flight by a few minutes and had to wait the whole day for the afternoon flight."

Thanks for all the other info.

We've got some great lines especially on Nigeria and Sudan.

Sudan is now at -0.75 at Pinny. Gabon and Nigeria odds are getting lower aswell.

I'm liking the rest of your picks, going to look at a few more things and will probably add some more plays.

Good luck!
